Following the irregularities and instability that comes with electricity power supply in the Country, Chief Fred Obe, the Commissioner for Energy in Delta State, has urged Deltans and other individuals who do not have access to reliable electricity or who have limited access to consider turning to solar energy as a way to receive steady, clean, and affordable power.
Yesterday, Chief Fred Obe made a call for individuals to take advantage of solar energy at the launch of the Beebeejump Solar Energy project. This initiative, carried out in partnership with the Delta State government, seeks to bring electricity to communities in the state that lack proper access, as part of the Federal Government’s plan to establish five million solar connections. According to Obe, the goal of the solar-based electrification scheme is to alleviate the difficulties faced by the majority of the population in accessing traditional power sources.
The General Manager of Beebeejump Solar International Ltd, Timmy Shi, expressed concern over the electricity challenges facing Nigerians, pointing out that over 92 million people in the country lack access to electricity. Shi, who also serves as the country Sales Director for the Chinese company with the slogan “Easy Life with Electricity,” stated that Beebeejump aims to address these energy problems by providing an alternative source of power.
While emphasizing the benefits of solar energy, Shi noted that it is a more affordable solution compared to traditional sources of electricity, making it the best alternative available.
Additionally, the Country Director, Mr. John ESO Imeme, shared that over 800,000 solar boxes have already been installed across Nigeria, including in Delta State, in an effort to boost the nation’s economy. Imeme stated that Beebeejump is ready to provide solar lighting to those at the grassroots level through its high-quality products that are affordably priced and accessible to all.
